Low-Cost Commercials

If you have a business, event, or cause you would like to promote, Hawaii Film School will produce and shoot a commercial for a $150 donation per shooting day. The commercial can be up to three minutes and will be suitable for high-definition broadcast or uploading to the Internet. This is really a win-win situation for everyone. You get a thoughtful, provoking commercial, and our students gain valuable production experience. It could cost thousands of dollars to create the type of commercials we can make, and with this unique opportunity, you are getting it for a nominal fee that covers our daily crew expenses. We ask that half of the donation is made in advance and the other half after the project is complete.

If you are interested, please contact us at (808) 371-8564 or email us at admin@hifilmschool.com.  Currently, we are booking commercial shoots within 30 days of being contacted and can usually deliver the finished commercial within one week after shooting. Generally, we like to meet in-person prior to the shoot for pre-production planning.

Mahalo and have a great day.

Please note that payments are made through our parent company---Kahala Press.

Interns Needed

If you would like to learn more about filmmaking and would like to learn by doing, we have some available slots for interns. Currently, we do most of our filming Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday nights, and all day Sunday. We are looking for responsible and reliable individuals who are passionate about filmmaking and who want to learn more. We need assistance with carrying gear, setting up and breaking down equipment, sound recording, and lighting. Filmmaking can be exciting, but it is hard work and requires dedication. The hours are long, but you will learn a lot and save yourself the cost of going to college. If this is something you might be interested in, please send us an email or call us at 808-371-8564. Typically, we  also  provide transportation, meals, drinks, title credits, and digital copies of any projects you work with us on.  Since we often create a learning environment, you may also be asked to sign a release for any audio or video of you that might be captured in the course of working on any given project.
